Installation

Dazzle comes on 2 floppy discs and takes about 3 minutes to install. This can be done using Start and Run or by double clicking on the My Computer icon, the floppy disc drive and set-up. Monitor Display can be set at 256 colours or above.

Navigation

The Dazzle interface is similar to that of many other software programs. Each menu item can be further configured for separate users. This results in a menu-bar suitable for a variety of users, from the very young to more advanced. The colour menu and the toolbar can also be configured and both are movable.

Dazzle has many wonderful features that only become apparent as one becomes familiar with its layout. Its simplicity of use belies the complexity of many of its tools. Several of its tools have other uses in conjunction with other tools. The ways in which areas can be moved, tiled, scaled, flipped etc. are too numerous to mention. The program can be pre-configured and saved in multiple ways. This makes its use in the schools extremely worthwhile.

Documentation

The software manual that is supplied with Dazzle is very simply and clearly laid out. Each feature is explained on a separate page with illustrations and notes. The text is quite large and the pictures very clear and concise. However on several occasions the manual did not give enough information on a particular feature and on one occasion it was in error. In describing the keys to use when enlarging the individual tools it stated that the SHIFT key should be used. The ALT key however was the one that produced the desired effect. The correct version was given in the online help.
