Evaluations
Content Photostory uses a variety of learning modes based on visual, aural and linguistic media. The content is very easy to use where you get instant results. There are 5 steps in the process of making the project and you must pass each step to get to the final stage. Step 1: Import pictures, place them in order and edit them. During these 5 steps the students can immediately preview their work and as the story develops they get more excited. The students feel very proud at hearing their own voice-over and their self confidence is developing as is their knowledge through out the project. Voice-overs and pictures were easy to delete and this added a ‘no stress’ environment. The students were able to critique their own work without judgement. Initially the teacher had control over the delivery but as the students got more competent they would have had a high level of control - (those students that were chosen on that particular day to be Director, Assistant Director and Sound Engineer).
Step 2: Insert text on pictures. Have the ability to change font, size, colour and position. Individual photos can be changed to sepia, black & white and others if desired.
Step 3: Record voice-overs and add transitions, special effects and panning.
Step 4: Add background music- can select your own or use Photo Story choice.
Step 5: Saving your story. (4 options)
The content is user friendly and uses language that is universal and current - edit, crop, delete, import, save, etc.
Photo Story is culturally, gender and racially balanced and has multiple levels of difficulty and challenges. The level of how much the students can be challenged is relevant to their expertise and experience. The students have the opportunity in Photo Story to learn through self- discovery.
