Content

The content of Eurotalk now interactive is designed to provide and reinforce the basic knowledge of the language , and as such concentrates on theme specific vocabulary. This allows the learner to increase and improve their vocabulary in a number of areas which are reflected in the Junior Certificate curriculum. The presentation of this information is colourful and attractive for this age group with easy to read and understand on screen instructions accessible to even the most computer illiterate. A help button is constantly displayed on- screen to ensure students are never stuck and oral instructions can be repeated by simply clicking on the speaker icon.

The program allows the user to select the level of difficulty which best suits them. There are three levels; easy, harder and a summative quiz which again is available at two levels, but examines the cumulative knowledge of the student, and so presents a further challenge. Information is presented both visually through attractive on-screen displays and aurally through messages delivered by native speakers. It does not however address any grammatical structures no matter how basic.

The programme records the individual progress of the user but does not support collective results, and so the teacher must assess student progress through separate written or oral exams or through the use of a data projector.
