The browser also includes an integrated pop-up ad blocker and a configurable image blocker. One feature of interest to teachers is the abiltiy to specify exactly which websites your students access by bookmarking only those sites on the Safari Bookmarks Bar. With Safari 2.0.4 Parental Controls enabled, your students browse only the sites on the Bookmarks Bar. New web addresses typed into the address field will not load on Safari. Opera 9 is a fast secure browser that is becoming more increasing popular. It has a range of features that are useful to both the average and the more advanced user.
Opera was the first mainstream browser to implement tabbed browsing. Tabbed browser allows the user to have mulltipe webpages open within a single brower window. It also implements a RSS reader as well. It is small download and it install quickly. Opera 9 is W3C compliant which means that it will open all properly coded websites and contains a email program as well.
Using Opera 9 is very similar to both Firefox 2 and IE 7. Tabbed browsing is now a common feature of all three browsers. It also has a few cool ways of using the mouse wheel to select the various tabbed windows. It also has a Voice feature where you can control the browser by talking to it, and it can generate speech from text in Web pages.

IE 7 has put some work into making the life of a teacher a bit easier. One great feature is in the print section where IE allows automatically shrinks text for improved printing, so all webpage content fits on your final printed page. Firefox 2.0 is the best known open source software application.
Improvements on this version included better security features, tabbed browsing and similar to other browsers it also manages RSS feeds.
Firefox also has inline dictionary which will help students with spelling difficulties to get the full use of browsing. Another feature is the number of extentions (useful applications that can be added on to the browser) that are available to Firefox.
