Web Editors

One of the most exciting aspects of the Internet is the fact that it gives schools the ability to publish material for use to an audience wider than their school, for both teachers and students who can publish and share their work.

A Web site can help promote the school within the wider community by publishing information on school activities, policies and events. Below is a review of some web editors available to schools.

Software Central also has a wider list of titles available here for those considering creating their own website.

 Expression Web

Details Resources
Version:  Expression Web

Expression Web is the new Microsoft replacement to FrontPage.

Expression Web's interface, is similar to Dreamwwaver based on palettes flanking the main workspace that shows web pages you're working on. Any web page consists of code that produces the desired layout onscreen, and in Expression Web you can work in Design view, Code view or Split view, which shows both code and layout. This interfaceis the most common found with web editors.

Expression Web's drag-and-drop capabilities and excellent code editing features are really useful. The code it generates is more standards compliant than Frontpage.
