The school has bought an interactive white board for 6th class. Ms O'Boyle is discovering its potential as a teaching tool in her classroom. We are glimpsing the classroom of the future! Linked to the computer and/or the internet, it makes available graphics, film clips and other resources at the press of a button. School Tours Summer 07
School tours are underway! Junior Infants visited the Hawkswell to see Cinderella which was hillarious even though the ugly sisters and the step mother were a little scary! This was followed by a trip to Woodville Farm to see and hold some of the animals. It was a great day out and thanks to all who helped make it such a success.
On Tuesday 5th June Senior Infants and 1st class went on a coach to Waterworld in Enniscrone, where they spent time on the playground apperatus and astroturf before enjoying the pool including the giant waterslide. After that they had a picnic on the beach, some parachute games and an ice lolly before returning home. It was great fun and an especial thanks go to Anna and Karina who came to help out, and all the staff at Waterworld who were superb.
On Thursday 7th June, 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th headed to Castlebar for a great day of activities, including the infamous waterslide, archery, obstacle courses, rope ladders and treasure hunts. The weather was glorious for an action packed day and all were home safely by 6.30. Next week 6th class visit the Donegal Adventure Centre in Bundoran. More reports and photos coming.
Thanks to all who made it such a good tour, especially to the organisers and to the student teachers and other adults who helped out on the day. Many thanks!
Visit from GAA Presidents
A rep from each class travelled to St Brendans N.S. for the visit of the GAA Presidents - Nicky Brennan and Geraldine Giles - who were on a tour of the county. Here they all are with Principal Frank O'Sullivan.
Congratulations to 2nd & 6th Classes!
Congratulations go to all the children who received First Communion and to those who were confirmed recently. Many thanks to all who helped in the preparations for these sacraments - teachers, parents, choir, Moninne, Geraldine, Emer Prendergast and to all who helped with the refreshments after Communion.
Cumann na mBunscoil
Well done to the boys and girls who have been competing in the Cumann na mBunscoil football competitions. The girls are through to the finals against Calry N.S. We wish Rathcormac Girls all the best when they play in Markievicz Park next weekend.
