Art Exhibition

Welcome Home Carl!
The whole school lined up on Thursday 3rd May to welcome Teacher Carl O'Rourke who called to see us on his way home from hospital. Carl is recovering well. He was a long time in hospital after being injured in a farming accident just before Easter. We look forward to him being back in the classroom before long!

Write a Book Project
Two pupils from 5th class were awarded first prizes for their stories. They were presented with trophies and certificates at the Sligo Education Centre on Friday 20th April by writer Brianóg Brady Dawson. Our congratulations go to both authors on their books. To read one of the winning stories click HERE.

Planting vegetables
2nd class were planting vegetables in the new garden. Unfortunately something (or someone!) was eating them so they moved the cabbages up to the old school. Let's hope they survive up there!

Ireland...a little history
Ancient History is all around us! Mark Keene, Field Monument Advisor for Sligo County Council, came and gave a Power Point presentation on the archeology of the local area. It was a fascinating talk that ranged from megolithic tombs to discussion about the stories of the Banshee. Thank you Mark for such an interesting afternoon.

6th Class at Raughley
6th class spent a sunny day exploring marine life at low tide with Marine Biologist, Dr. Bill Crowe. Despite a few slips on the seaweed we all enjoyed a great day out. Many thanks for a great experience Bill, both informative and fun!

Summer at Rathcormac!

Summer has arrived in full glory! Uninterrupted sunshine means play on the grass at lunchtimes, PE lessons outdoors and even other classes in the open air. What luxury!
