Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

All the pirates of the Caribbean needed was Johnny Depp to swagger around like Keith Richards, talking nonsense, getting into trouble, looking confused all the time etc., etc. Dead Man’s Chest gives us plenty of that but it also tries to give us –uh –oh-a story line. A story line that sags and droops and drags its heels, a story line that doesn’t make much sense to start with and slowly gets worse and worse, a story that doesn’t leave much room for the confused looks and the swaggering. When Dead Man’s Chest is good, it’s very good. It is also nowhere near as good as the first one. It really is not as good as you think. Well, let’s just hope for more swaggering, less storyline next time, eh?
