Wonderful Hazel
I went out to the Hazel wood
To see the trees tall and small
I see the swans swishing around in the distance,
Making the water ripple.

For it is autumn the brown leaves are falling from the sky, as we trudge through the muddy pathway.
We see the two lovers on the wood, as the sun dips in-between the trees.
When I walk past one tree,
I look up to see a dragon
Within the twists and turns
Of the great big Oak.
A dog runs by and turns to find his master
As loyal as a dog should be,
The wind blows you off guard, as I finish my walk
I see what a wonderful place to be

!!The Hazel Wood!!
"I went out to the hazel wood,
Because a fire was in my head,
And hooked a berry to a thread".
It looked like a painting,
But the trees were so real,
And so I got closer,
And started to feel.
So I brought some things home,
And willed them to grow,
So my garden of colours,
Will shine through the snow.
The smell was like Christmas,
The sound like the sea,
So hazel Wood forest,
Is perfect to me!!!

The Hazelwood

Today we went to the Hazelwood,
To learn all that we could,
About trees, seeds and wood.

Paul our guide brought us around,
The roots of the trees came up from the ground.
In the Wood there were some birds,
And Paul had plenty of words.

Some of the trees we saw were Oak, Ash and lime,
Many had been there a very long time.
seeds leaves and berries we picked as we went.
We had a good time and no money was spent.

It was windy and cold on that Autumn day,
But we were wrapped up warm so it was ok.
We got back to school just in time,
But now I've got to finish this rime.

Hazelwood SARAH MC MORROW
As I went to Hazelwood,
I stared as I stood,
On the edge of the lake which was a mistake,
Because I was in a pile of mud.

Some tree's were so old,
They change in to mold,
The Alder, the Oak and Beech,
Most I could hardly reach.
It didn't rain
Which would have been a pain,
There was a tour guide,
Who had all the inside,
To the forest and the wood.
Although the tree's are tall,
It looked good over all,
We had a good day,
On halfmoon bay,
That all I can say.

So I went to Hazelwood,
I stared as I stood,
On the edge of the lake,
With all my friends,
That's how it ends.

HAZELWOOD
Today I went to Hazelwood
And really though it was very good
With all my friends
Trees galore
From sky to floor
Beech, Ash, Birch and Oak
All kinds of Coniferous and Deciduous
Lime and larauls
Just a pity we didn't see the squirrels

Half Moon Bay
I went to the hazel wood today,
Through wind and rain we made our way.
The branches swayed above our heads,
As around the wood we were lead.

As we gazed across Lough Gill,
Swans went by majestic and still.
The waters stormy and dark today,
Summer felt so far away.

As we looked at a small acorn,
And the marks of a squirrel it had borne.
When I reflected on this day,
I hope to go back again and play.

Beauty in the trees
I went out to the hazel wood,
For a walk on National tree day
Our tour guide Paul brought us along the trail
As he guided us on our way.

For the fifteenth year people gather round
To admire the beauty that can only be found,
In our national forests and woodland parks
Open to all from morning until dark.

This years spotlight is on the Cherry tree
Two common Irish species the Bird and the Wild for all to see,
Beautiful blossoms cover them all
Until the Autumn when they fall only to return in Spring

Hazelwood
I went out to Hazelwood because
Today was national tree day
We kinda had a free day
We stayed out in the for a little while
We trekked for a few hours
To study trees and flowers
I gathered fruits of the forest
Elder, ash, hazel, birch and spruce
Acorns, bark and leaves that were loose
All lying on the forest floor
We walked until our feet were sore
So why would you go to Hazelwood
