Samba Drumming comes to Rathcormack.

Mr Brennan was inspired by a summer course he completed in Sligo Education centre in August to begin drumming sessions with every class in the school.Mr Brennan began his workshops with body grooves,simple rhythms and call and response activities. Following sessions worked with the instruments which the school received on loan from the Education Centre.These instruments include agogo bells, surdo drums,apito and tamborims.A group of children were selected to perform at a special assembly on Wednesday the 20th October and this group spent many hours practicing their routines .A huge thank you and well done to Mr Brennan for all his time and energy-the children learned so much and it was fantastic for their concentration.We will miss the sound of drumming around the school.
